Artist's Statement In my artwork, I use symbolism to express human emotion. The theme behind each piece addresses the issues that I am most passionate about. This is the way that I communicate, each painting portrays the images of my mind.
Biography Kristin Abraham was born December of 1982 in Rochester, New York. The second oldest of nine children, Kristin drew from a young age to escape the chaos and express her feelings. After High School, Kristin moved down to Fort Myers, Florida and continued painting. She traveled to Europe and fell in love with the carefree ambiance and overwhelming history. In 2002, Kristin worked with local artist, Cary diValentin. This experience jump-started her commission painting, leading to several large scale works throughout Southern Florida. During this time, Kristin’s work hung at Artemesia Gallery, in Venice, Florida. Kristin also taught full time as a K-12th art instructor at a private school in Fort Myers, FL. After two years, she left teaching to pursue her personal work. As Kristin returns to full time work as a freelance artist, she continues to show her work throughout Southwest Florida. In November, she and her husband leave to travel the continent for an entire year. During this time, Kristin will show her work at galleries and exhibits throughout the country.
